Darryl Britt, President and Founder

Darryl Britt is president of Apprio Inc., a provider of specialized technology solutions, particularly for the health, defense and homeland security markets. He has been a founding member of several technology firms during his more than 25 years in business. His experience spans various executive positions which include leading both technology and software product development organizations for public, private and startup companies. Britt possesses the ability to assimilate his technology background with general executive management experience, especially in high growth environments.

Under Britt’s leadership, Apprio has experienced significant growth, leading to the firm being recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies according to Inc. Magazine, the Washington Business Journal and Deloitte Consulting.
Britt’s management has resulted in Apprio obtaining industry certifications that include the Small Business Association’s (SBA’s) 8a certification, ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System, Health Level Seven International (HL7) certification and being appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration.

Career highlights include various management consulting positions with Deloitte & Touche and several technology and business development roles. Under Britt’s direction, Apprio developed the federal government’s Disaster Medical Information Suite (DMIS), an electronic health record (EHR) and situational awareness solution used to manage medical care during federal disasters and designated national security events such as the Gulf Oil Spill, Haiti Earthquake and Hurricane Ike.

Britt is a member of Healthcare Information Management and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). He earned bachelors and master’s degrees from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA.
