Apprio Presents Workshop Regarding Mobile Strategies for Disaster Response at July Conference

August 6, 2014 – Apprio’s Dr. Allen Dobbs proudly joined the University of Miami in highlighting disaster preparedness and response using mobile technology in July. Dr. Dobbs chaired the Mobile Data breakout session of the “Designing the Future of Disaster Preparedness and Response Using Mobile Technology” workshop July 23-24, 2014 in Washington, DC. An invitation-only crowd of leading experts in humanitarian assistance and disaster response attended the two-day event to learn how mobile technology can benefit responders in emergency situations for response support and disaster tracking.

Dr. Dobbs’ session specifically addressed the use of mobile data collection in humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR), including types of data collection needed to support HADR, identity management, real-time data analysis and ownership of patient data.

The event was funded by the University of Miami through its Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research (TATRC) grant.
