May 2018 –Apprio employees volunteered at Martha’s Table, an organization that promotes stronger children, stronger families and stronger communities by increasing access to good-quality education programs, healthy food and family supports. The employees worked at a Joyful Food Market in which colorful tables, filled with baskets of fresh produce, and stocked with healthy food, are set up in an area school to promote good health.
The employees assisted with curating a vibrant and joyful space for shopping, supported demos of healthy, market-inspired recipes, assisted children and families with choosing and learning about fruits and vegetables, and participated in other health-related activities.
Presented in partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank, the markets are held once a month, immediately following school dismissal for several hours. The markets are Joyful Community events open to families with children enrolled in that school.
By lending a hand in support of local food banks, Apprio employees are making a difference in the communities in which they live and work as they play a part in fighting hunger.
