March 21, 2016 – Two area food banks benefited from the generosity of Apprio employees in February and again in March.
This month, Apprio employees volunteered at the Maryland Food Bank-Baltimore Area. The employees worked in the food preparation room where meals are assembled. Additionally, in February, Apprio employees helped out at the Capital Area Food Bank Washington, where they packed donated food into boxes for distribution.
The Maryland Food Bank aims to meet the immediate needs of Marylanders while simultaneously working to find long-term ways to reduce hunger statewide. It currently distributes more than 120,000 meals per day. The Capital Area Food Bank is the largest organization in the Washington, D.C., metro area that is working to solve hunger. The Apprio employees played a part in helping people to be able to access good, healthy food. In fact, 540,000 people each year are helped by this food bank, which relies on volunteers such as the Apprio team to assist in its mission.
By lending a hand in support of local food banks, Apprio employees are making a difference in the communities in which they live and work as they play a part in fighting hunger.
