Health IT Interoperability
Health IT interoperability is critical for organizations throughout the country to be able to effectively leverage their health systems in support of improved patient care and operational efficiencies. Much progress has been made in interoperability due to public/private collaboration on standards. Apprio helps our clients to make sense of and participate in interoperability initiatives to allow for the nationwide, secure transmission of health information.
Health Information Exchanges
Today, roughly six in 10 hospitals electronically exchange patients’ health information with providers outside of their organizations, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. This is a 51 percent increase since 2008. The health information exchanges are ensuring healthcare stakeholders can connect care, improve health and develop the health IT ecosystem.
Apprio provides healthcare informatics and electronic health record solutions that allow clients to participate in nationwide efforts such as:
- eHealth Exchange
- Care Connectivity Consortium (CCC)
- Vendor-based HIEs
- State HIEs
Apprio has provided standards-based health information exchange solutions to clients for more than a decade. We have worked with government and private sector organizations to deploy and use solutions that comply with standards endorsed by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT.
We have helped many clients to deploy EHR solutions that connected to nationwide health information exchanges, assisting with deploying the solution, determining requirements for connectivity, creating the connections, testing the connections and training staff on how to effectively leverage the HIEs once connected.
