Demonstrated Success in Federal Health Programs

Apprio has served and managed federal health programs for more than 15 years. We engineer and manage health programs and technology solutions for many major federal health entities, including:
HHS National Disaster Medical System (NDMS): Apprio developed the electronic health record (Disaster Medical Information Suite) that HHS uses for all federally declared disaster responses. As the architect and project management entity over the entire effort since 2006, Apprio supported NDMS' early adoption of the CONNECT open source interoperability solution, including the implementation and demonstration of CONNECT as the interoperability foundation for NDMS between 2006 and 2012.
CMS: As the prime contractor, Apprio supports CMS' effort to implement ICD-10 across its infrastructure. Apprio's two roles include managing the interaction with Fiscal Intermediaries (FI) and Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs), and, serving as the Business Applications Management Group's oversight for projects across all CMS divisions requiring modifications to internal systems to support ICD-10 and the 5010 transaction code set.
U.S. Coast Guard: Apprio developed and implemented the medical credentialing and safety components of the USCG's integrated Healthcare Information System (iHIS), an EPIC-based electronic health record being implemented to support clinical and operational medicine requirements. Due to our deep experience in interoperability, Apprio's also implemented all interoperability including implementation and customization of InterSystem's Healthshare, developing patient and provider portals, developing interfaces to legacy CHCS and AHLTA platforms, and integrating a new master patient index (MPI).
CDC: For the past four years, Apprio has operated the Puerto Rico Immunization Registry, which is one of many CDC supported systems to track immunizations within the United States. These systems exchange data internally and to CDC in order to provide visibility on immunization status in support of public health.
Defense Health Agency (DHA - Army Reserve): Apprio provides clinical credentialing support for all Army Reserve clinicians who comprise the majority of clinicians within the actual Army. In addition, we manage the internal credential storage systems and their data interfaces to the Centralized Credentials Quality Assurance System (CCQAS), which is a web-based, worldwide credentialing, privileging, risk management and adverse actions database for the DHA.
