CDC Awards Apprio Contract to Support the Puerto Rico Immunization Registry

Apprio, a Consulting & Systems Engineering Firm, today announced it has been awarded a three year contract by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) to provide the technical and operational support for the Puerto Rico Immunization Registry. The Registry records and tracks immunizations of Puerto Rico's population, and provides assistance to remind registrants when vaccinations are due. Health providers and users of the system can login in directly or integrate their medical applications to the Registry through standard HL7 compliant messaging.

In addition to ensuring timely Immunizations, The registry helps prevent clinicians from over-immunizing, which may occur when healthcare providers are unaware of a patient's immunization record.  "We consider this award another important win for our Health Informatics business.
