Apprio Awarded Contract to Support the National Disaster Medical System's Response to the Haiti Earthquake Disaster

Washington, DC, January 22, 2010 – Apprio, Inc. has been awarded a contract from the Department of Health & Human Services, Assistant Secretary of Preparedness & Response to provide operational “surge” support for the federal response to the Haiti earthquake. Specifically, Apprio will provide 24 hour support for the National Disaster Medical System as medical first responders care for the earthquake victims.

Apprio’s responsibilities will include ensuring the interoperability between the on-the-ground medical management system (originally built by Apprio) and HHS’s centralized surveillance capabilities. Apprio will also provide all levels of 24/7 technical support for 1st responders currently in Haiti; answering usability questions and handling unique logistical issues created by the austere physical conditions.
